July FotM: Books

Ah, the library. The perfect place to be alone with senpai on a rainy day. Finally, time to tell them how you feel! Oh, senpai didn't show up today? That's a shame. Oh well then, guess you could just...read some books! Stories of love, stories of war, stories of dragons, people, science, and everything in between. Looks like you're not missing senpai anymore!

Books may have changed form over the years: from stone tablets to bound paper to pixels. But the value they hold to us has never diminished. Or has it? Have books lost their relevance? Are they just things that clutter our houses, meant to be put in bags and sent to recycling? We think otherwise — and so do these anime! The four erudite titles we will be reviewing this month are:

  • The Book of Bantorra: in a world where people turn into books after they die, the mysterious Armed Librarians protect many secrets at the Bantorra Library.

  • The Great Passage: a salesman a publishing company is transferred to the dictionary department to oversee the publication of a new dictionary.

  • Skull-Face Bookseller Honda-san: the hilarious everyday life of Honda, a bookstore employee and skeleton.

  • Ascendance of a Bookworm: a bookworm dies and is reincarnated as a 5-year-old in a fantasy world where books are scarce and reading is only for the nobles.

Be sure to check out these reviews as they come out! And there's a pretty good chance you're going to like next month's reviews as well.
